Exclusive | The Americans Season 3 DVD Deleted Scene

Today, the third season of FX’s original series, The Americans hit DVD with its third season. The Americans is set during in the ’80s at the height of the Cold War as Russian spies Phillip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell) attempt to maintain their cover and their loyalties to the Soviet Union as their own differences threaten to tear them and their family apart.

While the Jennings family takes up the most of The Americans‘ narrative, the series also follows their neighbor, Stan Beeman (Noah Emmerich), an FBI agent who has been tasked with uncovering spies. However, Stan was nearly compromised by his love for Nina (Annet Mahendru), a former agent in the Soviet embassy who was shipped back to her home as a traitor when Stan didn’t come through on his end and betray his own country to save her.

In this exclusive deleted scene from the third season finale of The Americans, Stan confronts his ambitious co-worker, Agent Dennis Aderholt (Brandon J. Dirden) that he would never betray his country. Of course, Stan left out the part about coming up with an unauthorized plan to out a Russian defector and use her as leverage to get Nina back. But what’s a little international espionage between friends and acquaintances?



The Americans season 3 DVD will include all 13 episodes from the third season, as well as deleted scenes and a special feature on “The Cold War for Paige,” which chronicles the push and pull between Elizabeth and Phillip as they attempted to decide whether their daughter should be pulled into their world.

FX has set the fourth season of The Americans to begin on Wednesday, March 16.
