Naughty Dog Apologizes to Ubisoft for Using Assassin’s Creed Art in Uncharted 4 Trailer

Naughty Dog has apologized to Ubisoft for using concept art for Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag in its latest trailer for Uncharted 4: A Thief’s End.

The trailer, posted online earlier, featured art that had previously been used in promotion for ACIV though Naughty Dog has now pulled it and replaced it for a new trailer featured original artwork from the development studio. Naughty Dog’s creative director Neil Druckmann tweeted: “No two ways about it, we fucked up,” before posting an apology to Assassin’s Creed publisher Ubisoft on their website.

The statement reads:

“In our eagerness to get the story trailer out we made a regrettable mistake and didn’t thoroughly vet the artwork used for an in game painting. We’ve already updated the trailer. We hold all artistry in high regard and take full responsibility for having allowed this to happen.

We want to sincerely apologize to everyone at Ubisoft, the Assassin’s Creed team, the original artist, and our fans.
