No Doubt Recruit AFI Singer Davey Havok For New Project

With Gwen Stefani off judging singing shows and dating country stars, No Doubt has once again become inactive – but only in name. The remaining members Tom Dumont, Tony Kanal and Adrian Young have paired up with AFI frontman Davey Havok for a new project. They’ve wasted no time getting into action either, with a full album already completed.

No Doubt last toured with lead singer Stefani in 2015, after which the singer separated herself from the group by establishing new management and focusing on her solo career.

Last November found Stefani admitting that her band’s 2012 reunion album Push and Shove ended up being much more difficult than anticipated, and she only found herself again on “The Voice”. “It was a lot of not being sure, not being confident, not knowing what sounds good, not being… honest,” she said.

Is No Doubt in its original formation is done for good? In 2016 its hard to care – the band hasn’t been relevant in many years. But Dumont, Kamal and Young clearly aren’t waiting by the phone for Gwen.

With a manager in place (Green Day’s Pat Magnarella) and a full album completed, the group are now in the process of shopping around for a label.
