The New Sports App Every Fan Will Soon Be Downloading

We get a ridiculous amount of requests to share the “latest, greatest” sports app on the market. Most of them make me shrug. But I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to share this one in particular because it’s something fans have been waiting for, for a very long time, and may not even realize it.

Similar to what Major League Baseball has provided their fans at stadiums the past few seasons on their website, Fanpics is a new app that appears to have taken stadium photos to the next level, allowing you to now grab high-quality pictures of yourself during games. And no, I’m not talking selfies.

Imagine you’re at the Clippers game (because no one cares about the Lakers anymore) and there’s :03 left on the clock. L.A. down 2. Blake Griffin gets the inbound pass, takes a couple steps and heaves a half court shot at the buzzer … NOTHING BUT NET! The crowd goes wild! ….

… You’re not going to have your smart phone out taking a selfie during this moment. But Fanpics just took high quality pics of you and your friends going bonkers during Griffin’s buzzer-beater.

Click. Add. Share.

How does it work?

Fanpics installs what they call “robo-magical” cameras throughout the arena. When you get to the game you type in your seats into the app. When a big moment happens during the game, the cameras go off and you’re instantly able to see pictures of yourself reacting from the stands.

Where is it available?

Unfortunately it’s only available at Staples Center in L.A. for Kings and Clippers games, StubHub Center (also L.A.) for Galaxy games and at the Viejas Arena in San Diego for Aztecs basketball games.

So unless you’re in southern California, you’ll have to wait a bit longer to give the app a test run. But the developers do say they are currently wiring additional arenas and stadiums. So be on the lookout. This is an app that will change your life. Kind of like the toaster. Or the Toaster Strudel. Can you tell I just had breakfast?
