The First Trailer For DC’s Legends of Tomorrow Has Arrived!

In two months, The CW’s DC Universe will expand to a third show as DC’s Legends of Tomorrow spins out of The Flash and Arrow. Next week’s crossover between Arrow and The Flash will set the stage for Legends of Tomorrow, but The CW has decided to release the first full trailer today.

As revealed in the trailer, the immortal villain, Vandal Savage (Casper Crump) has conquered the Earth in the year 2166, a feat unmatched by anyone in history. However, Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) isn’t willing to let this future stand. Using his time ship, the Waverider, Hunter has assembled a new team of heroes and villains to travel through history and stop Savage’s reign before it even begins.

From The Flash, Victor Garber is reprising his role Professor Martin Stein, one half of Firestorm with Jax Jackson (Franz Drameh) as the other half of the Nuclear Man. The Flash’s rogues, Heat Wave (Dominic Purcell) and Captain Cold (Wentworth Miller) are also on the team.

Arrow’s contributions to the cast include Ray Palmer a.k.a. The Atom (Brandon Routh), and White Canary (Caity Lotz). Kendra Saunders (Ciara Renée) has previously appeared on The Flash, but next week’s crossover will be a more formal introduction to her Hawkgirl alongside Hawkman (Falk Hentschel).

The new trailer offers plenty of teasers for the upcoming first season of Legends of Tomorrow. Most notably, the Hawks have a very antagonistic relationship with each other, and Professor Stein has apparently jeopardized his very existence! And in a lighter touch, Heat Wave enjoys the ‘70s a little bit too much.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow will premiere on Thursday, January 21, 2016 on The CW.
