Chance The Rapper Covers Kanye, Gets Heartfelt in ‘Family Matters’ Video

Chance the Rapper recently performed a cover of fellow Chicago native Kanye West’s “Family Business,” and today he put an official version out to the masses alongside a heartwarming new video called “Family Matters”.

The video – which shares the name of the tour he’s currently engaged in with his band the Social Experiment, features an endearing montage of behind the scenes footage which take viewers into what appears to be a highly grounded, humble young MC. Watch the clip below, which includes old home movie footage from Chance’s childhood:

We caught Chance the Rapper at ACL earlier this month, and nobody was more surprised by the dense midday turnout than the Chicago spitter. “You guys are a lot louder and know a lot more of the words than I thought you would,” he said after a searing opening with “Everybody’s Something” and soaking the front rows with a water bottle. Fronting his jazz-influenced band Donnie Trumpet & the Social Experiment, body-shuddering bass grooves and jazzy flourishes crafted a bedrock foundation for Chance’s flows on positivity and social fuses.
