TV on The Radio and Boxed In Light Up the Annenberg Space for Photography

As the sun began to set on Los Angeles last night, the courtyard of the Annenberg Space for Photography began to fill up with people looking forward to an evening of great music and an event with a great cause.

This event was called “Sound In Focus”, and was the first of a series of concerts that The Annenberg Foundation and KCRW are putting on this summer in Century City.  The series is inspired by the “Emerging” exhibit currently at the space, which includes images by more than 90 photographers from around the world, each with unique styles and perspectives on the craft. These events represent the intersection of music and photography as a means of gathering the community together to engage in the appreciation of art and artists alike.

Last night’s event kicked off the series with a truly eclectic DJ set by KCRW music director Jason Bentley, and amazing performances by TV on The Radio and UK rock outfit Boxed In. Whether you were sitting on a blanket in front of the stage, enjoying a drink in the beer garden, or getting some food at one of the 8 food trucks on the premises, chances are you were surrounded by people all smiling and having a great time.

By all counts it seemed like the event was a huge success, and the last song of the show came way too fast for everyone in attendance. Surely the next events with De La Soul, Dwight Yoakum and Cold War Kids will follow suit.
