The Who Confirmed as Third Glastonbury Headliner

The Who have been confirmed as the third headliners for Glastonbury 2015.

The legendary British band are set to close the festival on Sunday, following a penultimate performance by Paul Weller on the Pyramid Stage. They will also join fellow headliners Foo Fighters and Kanye West.

Speaking after the announcement, The Who’s frontman Roger Daltrey expressed his excitement in regards to taking to the Pyramid once again, saying: “It’s great to be ending this part of a 50-year career at the most prestigious and respected music festival in the world.

“We’ll do our best to close this year’s event with a bang, unless of course the fireworks get wet!”

The Who previously headlined Glastonbury back in 2007 in what was then their first appearance at the festival, with their performance being widely regarded as the highlight of the entire event. They’ll inevitably be dipping further into their back catalogue this time around, with them likely to be playing a set similar to the one they’re currently using in their The Who Hits 50! tour, which began last month.

Glastonbury confirmed The Who’s headlining performance on Twitter, along with posting an updated poster for the event.

The Who are believed to be the last major announcement for the festival, which is set to take place between June 24th – 28th.
