Peking Duk Are Headlining The 2015 A-League Grand Final

Aussie electronic music duo Peking Duk have been named as the pre-match entertainment for the 2015 Hyundai A-League Grand Final. The ARIA Award winners will warm up the crowd before kickoff at the season-ending match on Sunday, 17th May.

What’s more, A-League fans are currently voting to decide which song should be included in Peking Duk’s performance.

At the time of writing, High feat. Nicole Miller (below) is way ahead of the pack, with 51 percent of all votes. Take Me Over feat. Safia is coming in second at 29 percent of votes. High and Take Me Over came in at number two and five respectively on triple j’s Hottest 100 of 2014, proving their immense popularity.

Peking Duk have shared their soccer-fueled excitement following the announcement, taking to Twitter to say they “can’t wait” to perform at Aussie football’s night of nights.

Football Federation Australia CEO David Gallop says he’s excited to see Peking Duk hit the stage. “The Hyundai A-League Grand Final entertainment is always a key discussion point amongst our fans, and we are thrilled to be able to announce such a high quality artist in Peking Duk as this year’s main act,” he says.

“The Hyundai A-League is now one of Australian sports marquee events and attracting a act of the calibre of Peking Duk adds to the overall spectacle of what will be a fantastic day.”

So at least one code is getting homegrown acts to perform at its grand final. If only the others would take notice of the A-League’s example.

Punters can vote for their preferred Peking Duk song over at the A-League’s Letting The Fans Choose website.
