Concept art from the canned BioShock movie has been released, offering a glimpse at what the unproduced film would have looked like if it was placed under the guidance of Pirates of the Caribbean director Gore Verbinski.

Verbinski was the planned director for the film, which was set to be an adaptation of Irrational Games’ critically-acclaimed video game series, requesting that Universal hand over a $200 million budget. However, when Universal refused and instead offered an $80 million budget, Verbinski left the project to Juan Carlos Fresnadillo. BioShock creative director Ken Levine then pulled the film altogether, after stating that Fresnadillo wasn’t the best fit to adapt the series.

Judging from the concept art the film was set to take place in Rapture, the underwater city players can explore in the first two BioShock titles. The artwork depicts a number of scenes involving a Big Daddy and Little Sister, all created by conceptual illustrator Kasra Farahani (Thor).
