Windows 10 Will Get its Own Xbox One App

Windows 10 will be getting its own Xbox One app, if a selection of leaked screenshots are anything to go by.

It was recently revealed by head of Xbox Phil Spencer that he is focusing upon bringing gaming to the new operating system, and it seems that this app will be an integral part of its OS implementation.

The screenshots, leaked by The Verge, also highlight Cortana integration, Microsoft’s Siri-esque voice recognition system.

The screenshots are of commercial build 9901 of the upcoming operating system, which Microsoft is pushing as the true successor to Windows 7 after the lackluster commercial response to Windows 8. Build 9901 also highlight some tweaks made to the Windows Store, which see music, film and TV being filed alongside apps and gaming. This could therefore mean that the OS will integrate the Xbox Music and Xbox Video stores into its Windows Store, thus leading to greater parity between its Xbox ecosystem and OS.
