HBO Go Finally Debuts on the Xbox One

An HBO Go app has found its way to the Xbox One today. This allows subscribers of the service to enjoy the library of TV shows and movies from the Xbox One without the need for anything other than the console.

The app is similar to the one found on the Xbox 360, although the interface has been updated in a few ways to make it more intuitive with subtle visual changes that make it appear more modern. Although Snap isn’t supported, you can pin your favorite shows to the Xbox One Home Screen for instant access.

HBO Go remained one of the most widely request apps for the Xbox One since its launch a year ago. Since then, the console has received support for a variety of services including yesterday’s debut of Plex. The PS4 is still waiting to receive HBO Go support, which has been confirmed on numerous occasions.

The HBO Go is free to download, but requires a subscription to access. A subscription costs roughly $15 a month.

If you decide to use the app, you may encounter an issue where the Xbox One isn’t available as a registration option. Simply select Xbox 360 in the meantime to get things rolling. HBO should have a solution in place soon.
