Lollapalooza 2014: Blood Orange Singer Claims He Was Assaulted by Security

Blood Orange singer-songwriter Dev Hynes was “assaulted by the security” at Lollapalooza 2014, or so he claims. His girlfriend, Samantha Urbani, is said to have been a victim in the assault as well.

“Samantha and I just got assaulted by the security. We are about to press charges,” Hynes posted on Twitter. In a followup tweet, he elaborated, adding, “They grabbed her I asked what they were doing and they grabbed my neck and threw me to the ground, then two others joined in on me.”

When Blood Orange was on stage at the festival, Urbani, who was performing alongside her boyfriend, warned the crowd in attendance of issues with security brutality. After discussing the issue with the Lollapalooza staff, Urbani noted that the accused security weren’t actually festival staff but folks hired specifically for that stage.
