Apple Adds 16GB Color Model To iPod Touch Lineup

Just when we thought Apple was sending its iPod line to the scrap heap to focus on streaming services, a curveball arrives: Apple has announced new updates to its iPod Touch line.

A new 16GB model iPod Touch has been added to the previous lineup, offering the same range of five colors – a leap from its previous grey limitations – like its more expensive, larger capacity versions. The device features the four inch “retina” screen and A5 processor of the previous 16GB version, with an added 5-megapixel iSight camera to the existing FaceTime HD camera.

The new 16GB version costs $199. Along with introducing the new 16GB model, Apple has dropped the price of the 32GB model to $249 and the 64GB model to $299 – a wise move given the sales freefall the iPod has been in.
