Grand Theft Auto V PS3 and PS4 Trailer Compared, Massive Improvement Demonstrated

Digital Foundry has put together a video which includes footage from a last-gen trailer for Grand Theft Auto V, as well as one for next-gen. The results speak highly of Rockstar Games’ hard work.

Rockstar has spent a tremendous amount of time revisiting textures, effects, and more to make the next-gen version of GTA V a huge improvement, hoping that previous buyers would be willing to buy it a second time. They began developing the Xbox One, PS4, and PC versions before GTA V was even on the market, so by the time it’s out it’ll have already had over 12 months of enhancement and polish put into it.

Improvements even extend beyond what you can see in the video above. The PC version’s entry on Steam shows new weather and damage effects, and even a video editor. This really is the ultimate version.

Frankly, it’s almost as if the GTA V hype train is back. Many of us finished the game last year, spending anywhere between 30 to 90 hours completing single-player and messing around in GTA Online. Even then, knowing that something so good can be replayed with tremendous visual improvement is worth being excited about.

Grand Theft Auto V will release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC sometime later this year. It will be priced at $59.99.
