Ricky Gervais Considers Glastonbury 2014 Festival Slot for The Office Character

Ricky Gervais is considering playing Glastonbury festival as The Office character David Brent.

Gervais has been touring as Brent, the boss with an incredible lack of self-awareness from the original UK version of the TV series The Office, as part of a comedy show alongside his band “Foregone Conclusion”.

When asked by the Radio Times whether or not he’d consider playing a slot at Glastonbury 2014, Gervais said: “It could happen. It would be amazing for Ricky Gervais but I don’t know if I can justify David Brent playing Glastonbury because David Brent can’t become a real pop star. He can’t play venues outside the story.”

Gervais is set to play two UK shows at the Oxford New Theatre and Hammersmith Apollo as part of a new TV series he’s working on. He’ll playing the venues on May 14th and 16th respectively.
