Something For Kate Announce 20th Anniversary Aussie Tour Details

Following on from the huge response to another recently announced 20th anniversary tour, Something For Kate are set to embark on a massive Australian theatre tour this July and August.

On the back of the Dandy Warhols‘ tour announcement last week, which sold-out the Melbourne leg of the tour in just 90 minutes, Something For Kate will celebrate their birthday milestone with a five-stop Aussie capital city tour.

The Melbourne trio of Paul Dempsey, Clint Hyndman, and Stephanie Ashworth will hit up Perth, Brisbane, Sydney, Melbourne and Adelaide mid-year and will also re-release all six previous albums on vinyl, deluxe CD, and iTunes to coincide with the upcoming book Paper Trail, a visual diary that spans the band’s 20-year history. Each stop will feature two sets and a chance to meet the band.

SFK appeared to Triple J on Monday to break the news.

“We’re gonna play for like two and a half hours,” singer Paul Dempsey said.

“We’ll play two sets, and show a film before we go on. Then we’ll come on stage, play for an hour, take a break, and then do another hour and a half. And then after that, we’ll head out to the merch desk and meet our audience.

“We want to say hi and say thank you and have a celebratory event. We’re going to really go back through each album and try to re-learn songs we haven’t played in years and some stuff that hasn’t been played on every other tour.”

SFK’s huge success at home includes two No.1 ARIA chart topping albums and another three that landed top 10 success

Tickets go on sale at the official Something For Kate website from Friday, April 11.
