SXSW: CraveOnline Music Showcase feat. Semi Precious Weapons, Miniature Tigers, 8mm & More

After covering SXSW for several years, CraveOnline made a mindblowing first impression on Austin’s annual music marathon in 2013 with an incredible party featuring Reignwolf, Eagles of Death Metal, Alain Johannes, Blondfire and many more. It was a smash success that packed the house all night and established Crave as a strong player in the live music scene during the biggest music event of 2013, and set expectations sky-high for our plans in 2014. This year, somehow, we’ve managed to build on that momentum and achievement with a supremely awesome lineup for our unofficial music showcase during SXSW 2014!

We’ve put together an incredible rockin’ lineup for this year’s CraveOnline SXSW show (RSVP here), taking place March 12th at Rusty’s on 7th from 8pm-2am. Who’s playing? So glad you asked. Check out our incredible event poster below, followed by an introduction of acts on the bill. For VIP access, download the SoundHound app and show it at the door to skip the line.

Topping our bill is Semi-Precious Weapons, who are gearing up for the release of their new album Aviation with a crushingly good new song “Aviation High“. They’re also Crave’s featured artist for March in our Band of The Month series, which we’ll kick off on Thursday.

Miniature Tigers will also grace the stage at Crave’s SXSW show as the Brooklyn dream-pop outfit gear up for the release of their highly-anticipated new album Cool Runnnings, recorded in Jamaica with producer Chris Zane (The Walkmen, Passion Pit). More.

Also on our bill are 8mm and The Silent Comedy, both of which are previous Crave Band of The Month featured artists. As half of 8mm’s creative core, Sean Beavan’s reputation precedes him, having mixed and produced records for Nine Inch Nails, Marilyn Manson, No Doubt and countless others, picking up a Grammy nomination for his talents in the process. His wife and muse, vocalist Juliette Beavan, is a gorgeous seduction in a dream wrapped in a silken voice that draws you into an atmosphere of sensuality and power with the sweetest kind of hypnosis. More.

The Silent Comedy, San Diego’s bluegrass-infused, gospel-inspired cabaret rockers, specialize in barn-burning intensity in live performance. With the soulful energy of a Southern-Baptist spiritual revival, the band’s early EPs and two studio albums were met with increasing critical acclaim and an ocean of new fans – helped in no small part by the wide range of style and sound enabled by the Zimmerman brothers’ volleying vocal duties. More.

Queen Caveat, the explosive Los Angeles-based outfit led by maniacally intense frontwoman Lauren Little, will also take the stage in support of their kickass new EP Manufactured Happiness. More.

Brazilian rock quartet Hellbenders will bring a blisteringly furious intensity to the stage as they rampage through in support of their desert-rock debut album Brand New Fear. More.

The night will also see performances from Mellow Hype (Hodgy Beats and Left Brain of Odd Future) Emily Danger, Danny Malone, Bugs in the Dark, Super Water Sympathy, and more to be announced as we draw closer to Crave’s biggest SXSW event of all time! Don’t forget to RSVP, and we’ll see you at the show!
