Listen: Art Vs Science Drop New Single, Aussie Tour

Art vs Science are back with a brand new single and a five-stop Australian capital city tour.

It’s hard to believe it has been nearly five years since the Sydney trio became a club favourite with the French flavoured hit ‘Parlez Vous Francais’, but the boys are well and truly back after a two-year lay-off.

The new Art vs Science single, ‘Create/Destroy’, was debuted on Triple J on Thursday morning and has a touch of a 2013 Daft Punk-inspired sound to it.

“It’s about a faltering relationship, and the myriad questions the mind throws out and the crumbling footholds to which it clings as it falls into an unknown conclusion,” said guitarist Dan Mac of the band’s latest creation.

AVS went on an extended hiatus after the release of 2011’s The Experiment and a full two years of touring.

“Cracks were starting to form even on a really personal level, despite being as close as we were,” Mac told The Telegraph.

“I took some time to do the spiritual thing in Nepal and we’ve definitely benefited from time apart.”

“When you tour and do four or five shows a week, the amount of drinking can become insane. You almost become an alcoholic,” he said, now two months sober.

Art vs Science will be taking ‘Create/Destroy’ and what we hope will be some more new material on the road for an April club tour, hitting Adelaide, Perth, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.

You can also catch Art vs Science at this weekend’s Australian Open of Surfing at Manly Beach alongside Birds Of Tokyo and Illy.
