Watch: U2 Cover ‘Get Lucky’ With Nile Rogers, Coldplay Takes on Lou Reed

Is it still Summertime? Apparently, because everybody’s still covering the hell out of Daft Punk’s smash track “Get Lucky”. U2′s Bono and The Edge teamed with Nile Rodgers and performed the track during a charity event for (Red) this past weekend.

Bono was particularly corny in the performance, leading to speculation that he was (gasp!) a little drunk during the clip. The performance was held during an auction at Sotheby’s in New York City. In addition to teaming with Rogers and his band Chic, Bono and Coldplay frontman Chris Martin sat down at a piano to play a couple of songs: U2′s “Beautiful Day” and a cover of the late Lou Reed’s “Perfect Day.” Check out the clips below.

As for U2, the band are currently at work on a highly anticipated new album, which is being produced by Danger Mouse. Bono has gone on record calling the upcoming album a special one, and vital to the presence of the band in the world today.
