Watch: Tech N9ne Goes Spaz-Metal, Rewinds Robbery Gone Wrong in ‘Hiccup’ Video

Earlier this month, the unstoppable locomotive of indie rap Tech N9ne unleashed his hotly anticipated rap-metal fusion EP Therapy: Sessions With Ross Robinson to a rush of excitement, aided in no small part to the inclusion of Wes Borland of Limp Bizkit/Black Light Burns, Syd Wilson AKA DJ Starscream of Slipknot and others. Now, the release of the video for “Hiccup” allows some insight into just how twisted and innovative the track really is.

The concept for the song is fantastic, featuring a series of hiccup-like sounds placed into a beat pattern and built into a rock juggernaut thanks to the spastic genius of Borland. In our interview last week with Tech, he explained how the song came to him in a dream. The clip depicts a robbery gone wrong in reverse, walking back through the robber’s motivations in a brilliantly executed video. Tech also happens to name drop Pussy Riot and Charles Ramsey, the man who was pivotal in freeing the victims of Ariel Castro.
