Bluesfest, Soundwave Lineups To Be Announced In Coming Days

Lineup announcements for the 2014 Bluesfest and Soundwave festivals are right around the corner.

The 2014 Soundwave lineup is dropping on Friday while Bluesfest announced on Thursday that their lineup will be revealed early next week.

The official Soundwave twitter feed went as far as putting a time on their announcement.

“It’s a Date! Find out who will be gracing Soundwave Stages in 2014 this Friday at around 1.15pm,” tweeted the festival.

Bluesfest have chosen Tuesday to announce their 25th anniversary lineup, one the festival promises to be “enormous, vibrant, plus unique and as always, a perfect blend of legendary, modern, up and coming and straight down famous artists.”

The Bluesfest organisers are obviously pretty excited about next year’s event- Tuesday’s big reveal will be the earliest lineup announcement in the festival’s history and will be spread out over a number of weeks.

“We are excited and over the moon about what we are going to bring to you in Round 1,” promoters posted on the website. “So get prepared and get that adrenaline pumping, as we will roll out our magical 25th Anniversary artist bill over the upcoming weeks.”

Last year’s initial Bluesfest announcement featured Ben Harper,   Iggy and The Stooges and Wilco before the likes of Robert Plant, Paul Simon and Rufus Wainwright were later added to the bill. Despite attracting capacity crowds of 17,000 per day earlier this year, 2014’s installment promises to be even bigger.

Nine Inch Nails appear to the be popular guess as the Soundwave headline act to headline alongside what will be a 63 band lineup.

Already confirmed for Australia’s top heavy metal festival are Crash Diet, Sparks the Rescue and Newsted, the band of former Metallica member Jason Newsted.
