Wolfmother, Andrew Stockdale Make Immediate Comeback

For three months Andrew Stockdale had us living under the impression Wolfmother was dead, but after having already played a “last ever” show that notion has now been proven false.

After months of exclusively plugging Stockdale’s recently released solo record, Keep Moving, the Wolfmother Facebook page sprung back to life on Wednesday by announcing the band’s long awaited return to US soil.

“Hello Everyone, We are ecstatic to announce we (Wolfmother) will be playing at The Troubadour on Monday night in Los Angeles California USA! Come one come all ! This is our first show in the USA in 3 years, it will be a spectacular…,” wrote the band from their 679,806 like strong Facebook account.

The new was so successful, selling out “in seconds”, that the band announced a further two dates for next week.

Where has this all come from? Stockdale announced he was going solo in March, later telling FasterLouder, “It might not be the smartest choice but all I wanted to do was put out a record under my own name and self-produce it.”

“I might lose fans or might gain fans, but you’ve got to have a go at doing what you want to do at some point in your life…”

If you are still of the belief the news is all an elaborate joke, Stockdale confirmed the news in a Twitter exchange with a fan last week, saying, “(Wolfmother) hasn’t broken up it’s the same band on the keep moving record, may well make another WM very soon.”

Wolfmother supposedly played their last show on April 28 when they opened for Aerosmith in Melbourne.
