Will Neagley Return to Alan Ritchson’s Reacher? Maria Sten Has Answered

Maria Sten is not closing the book on Frances Neagley’s future in Reacher. Asked whether she could return to the parent series, Sten pointed to the franchise’s flexible setup and hints that there’s a possibility.

Maria Sten leaves door open for Neagley’s Reacher return

During a Screenrant interview, Maria Sten said “there’s always a door open,” hinting that there’s a chance for Neagley to cross paths with Jack Reacher again. Sten’s reasoning comes down to the way the franchise moves through Lee Child’s novels. Sten noted that Reacher follows an anthology model, so a potential comeback depends on which book the series chooses to adapt.

“So it really just depends on what, what book they want to do. There are more Neely books, or more books, Reacher books with Neagley in them,” Sten said. She also stressed that Neagley appears in additional Reacher books, giving the writers more material to draw from.

Sten also sees the TV universe as something that can run on separate tracks without locking its characters apart. She said the worlds can operate “independently and sort of parallel with each other,” while still allowing a crossover later. So, Neagley’s current solo chapter does not automatically shut the door on another reunion with Alan Ritchson’s Reacher.

The franchise has already opened another door with Neagley, giving Maria Sten’s character a spotlight of her own on Prime Video. Sten plays Frances Neagley, a Chicago-based private investigator whose military past ties her directly to Reacher. The spinoff also features Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley and Adeline Rudolph as Renée Birdwhistle, while Alan Ritchson also appear as Reacher in a guest appearance.

Across eight episodes, Neagley steps out of Reacher’s shadow and leads her own mission with a team around her. The story draws from Lee Child’s characters and folds in her experience with the 110 Special Investigators. Where she goes next could depend on the franchise’s next storyline and whether the writers can carve out another opening for her.

Rotten Tomatoes currently lists Neagley at 94% from critics and 82% from audiences. IMDb gives the series a 7.7/10 user rating.
