Wanda Maximoff may or may not get the reunion fans hoped for in VisionQuest. A new report circulating on X (formerly Twitter) claims Elizabeth Olsen’s character will not appear in Marvel’s upcoming series, putting another dent in theories about her return.
Don’t have high hopes for Wanda’s return in VisionQuest
The report has already kicked off plenty of debate among fans. Some questioned why Vision can appear in a story connected to Wanda while Wanda supposedly cannot appear in his, with one fan calling it “no IQ logic.”
Others asked, “Says who??” Another reaction described leaving Wanda out as a “Huge miss,” while some fans remained convinced that she could still show up through a flashback. Many took the rumor as confirmation of what they already suspected.
One fan argued that Wanda is either dead or somewhere else in the multiverse, while another said they never understood why people expected her comeback to happen through a Disney+ series. A separate theory suggested Marvel could be holding Wanda’s return for Avengers: Doomsday instead.
Vision’s next chapter is shaping up to be a whole different ball game. VisionQuest picks up after WandaVision, putting Paul Bettany’s android hero on a personal mission to piece together his lost memories and figure out what remains of his humanity. James Spader is back as Ultron, while Todd Stashwick steps in as Paladin, a mercenary with his sights set on Vision’s technology.
Marvel is also stacking the deck with some fresh faces. Lauren Morais and Diane Morgan have joined the lineup, with Deadline reporting that Morais will play Lisa Molinari, a character with ties to Ruaridh Mollica’s Thomas Shepherd. Morgan, meanwhile, will portray someone working alongside Paladin. Faran Tahir is also returning as Raza, the Ten Rings leader he previously played in Iron Man.
Marvel has positioned VisionQuest as the final entry in its WandaVision trilogy, following WandaVision and Agatha All Along. The series will premiere Oct. 14.
