Tesla Smashes Through Brick Wall, Plummets 20 Feet, and Damages Multiple Homes

A Tesla driver damaged several homes in Orange County after the vehicle crashed through a brick wall before midnight on Tuesday night. The single-vehicle accident occurred after the driver lost control of the Tesla near Chapman Avenue, went airborne, and made a loud collision against a garage of a home on Cadbury Drive.

Tesla causes widespread damage to several townhomes

An unnamed 22-year-old driver suffered a medical emergency, causing the Tesla to veer off the road, according to the Orange Police Department per ABC 7.

The Tesla smashed through a brick wall on the side of the road, collided with a tree as it went airborne, and fell 20 feet along an embarkment. It then damaged several townhomes, leaving a trail of debris and shattered windows, before coming to a booming halt when it crashed into a garage.

A photograph of the Tesla shows multiple windows blown out, a heavily dented side, and the nose of the vehicle nearly half missing.

One of the front tires of the car flew off and hit one of the homes, while stone debris from the wall broke several windows. Neighbors described the collision as an “explosion.”

Joan, a woman who lives in the house with the damaged garage, said she raced outside after she heard the accident.

“I just heard a big bang,” she recalled, “and you know, my house kind of shook.”

Fortunately, many of the people were inside their homes at the time of the crash and were not hurt. Joan said she found the driver dazed in the Tesla and not badly hurt.

Still, first responders to the scene needed to conduct a heavy rescue operation to pull the driver from the wrecked vehicle. It is believed that the driver was seen loaded into an ambulance. The person’s condition is not yet known.
