Scream 7 is already a streaming hit on Paramount+

Scream 7 is off to a strong start on streaming, quickly climbing to the top of the charts on Paramount+.

According to FlixPatrol, the R-rated horror sequel ranked No. 1 on Paramount+’s Top 10 Movies list in the United States on May 31, 2026, shortly after its debut on the platform. The film outperformed a number of high-profile titles, including Top Gun: Maverick, The Running Man, Scary Movie, Roofman, An Unfinished Life and Primate.

The film marks the latest chapter in the long-running horror series and serves as the follow-up to Scream VI. Directed by Kevin Williamson, the sequel debuted in theaters on February 27, 2026 and once again shifts the focus back to franchise veteran Sidney Prescott, portrayed by Neve Campbell.

The film centers on Sidney, whose attempt to build a peaceful life away from the Ghostface murders is disrupted by a new wave of killings. When the latest attacks begin targeting her family, Sidney is forced back into a conflict she has spent years trying to escape. As the mystery unfolds, the film introduces a Ghostface killer who uses digital manipulation and psychological tactics to terrorize victims.

Alongside Campbell, the cast includes Isabel May as Tatum Evans, Jasmin Savoy Brown as Mindy Meeks-Martin, Mason Gooding as Chad Meeks-Martin, Anna Camp as Jessica Bowden, and Courteney Cox as Gale Weathers.

While critics reception was largely negative, audience response proved more favorable. The film currently holds a 30 percent critics score on Rotten Tomatoes based on 217 reviews, compared to a 74 percent audience score. Its early performance on Paramount+ suggests continued viewer interest.
