A new update to the ongoing Avengers: Secret Wars cast speculation now places Michael Fassbender among the rumored additions. Industry insider MyTimeToShineHello posted fresh names on X (formerly Twitter), expanding the previously reported list with several notable inclusions. The post identifies Fassbender specifically as Erik Lehnsherr alongside other returning and new faces.
MyTimeToShineHello shared the update by adding to a prior cast compilation, posting, “Lewis Pullman – Sentry / Void, Rebecca Romijn – Mystique, Alan Cumming – Nightcrawler, Sophia Di Martino – Sylvie, Owen Wilson – Mobius M. Mobius, Michael Fassbender – Erik Lehnsherr.”
The addition arrives days after the same account claimed that “some of the First Class actors will return for Secret Wars.” Marvel Studios has not confirmed Fassbender’s involvement in the project at this time.
Fassbender last portrayed the younger version of Magneto in 2019’s Dark Phoenix before Marvel Studios regained control of the X-Men franchise. His potential inclusion follows confirmed castings of original X-Men timeline actors Ian McKellen and Patrick Stewart for Avengers: Doomsday. Avengers: Secret Wars currently holds a December 17, 2027 release date.
