Name of Steve & Peggy’s Son in Avengers: Doomsday Possibly Revealed

Marvel Studios appears ready to expand Steve Rogers’ legacy in a major way as a new report tied to Avengers: Doomsday claims to reveal the identity of his and Peggy Carter’s son, a character who could play a crucial emotional role in the upcoming multiverse epic.

Steve and Peggy’s son in Avengers: Doomsday possibly revealed

Marvel Studios already confirmed the birth of Steve and Peggy’s child in a teaser, but his name remained a mystery until now. According to known scooper MyTimeToShineHello, their son is reportedly named James Rogers. The insider posted on X (formerly Twitter), “Steve Rogers and Peggy’s son is named James/Jim – it’s him!”

The name carries major emotional weight, appearing to honor Steve’s best friend, Bucky Barnes, whose real first name is James. While a character named James Rogers exists in the animated Next Avengers: Heroes of Tomorrow as the son of Captain America and Black Widow, the MCU could be borrowing the name for this new legacy character.

The storyline explaining this family’s existence is complex. Following the events of Endgame but before Loki Season 2’s conclusion, Loki reportedly discovered Steve living out of time with Peggy and their son.

He warned Steve that the TVA would erase their timeline because Steve was not meant to be there. To protect them, Loki secretly relocated the Rogers family to the Fantastic Four’s universe, designated as Earth-828.

Years later, during the events of Avengers: Doomsday, Doctor Doom finds them and warns about the multiversal incursions. This sets Steve on a path back to the main MCU (Earth-616) alongside the Fantastic Four and Doom himself. Additional filming reports mention a scene shot in a baseball stadium featuring Steve and his son, hinting at their life in this alternate world.

Avengers: Doomsday, directed by the Russo Brothers, will release in theaters on December 18, 2026.
