Kaley Cuoco on Vanished having just four episodes

Kaley Cuoco has addressed the unusually short run of her new MGM+ thriller series Vanished. She clarified that the series was always designed to unfold across just four installments. In an interview with ScreenRant, the actor said that the show was designed to move quickly and could easily be consumed in a single sitting. “ It’s quick, it’s fast-moving — you can get it all done in one night,” she said.

Cuoco explained that the format and structure of the show appealed to her because television has become so flexible in length. She said, “It’s so interesting where we’ve gotten in our television viewing days. There’s no rule anymore. You get four, you do eight. So I thought, okay, this is going to be kind of cool.”

Cuoco noted that the series was designed to feel like a movie, giving audiences the option to watch all four episodes at once or spread them out. “But I liked that it felt like kind of a large film, and because we shot literally in Marseille and Paris, there was something so beautiful about it and so international and romantic, and it just checked a lot of boxes for me personally,” she added.

The actor also reflected on the personal considerations involved in committing to the two month shoot overseas, particularly with a young child at home. She stated, “And I’m glad I made that decision. I don’t know how many more opportunities I’ll have to do something like that.”

Cuoco also spoke enthusiastically about filming in both Marseille and Paris, adding that she would readily return there in the future. She added that being reunited with her long-time crew and stunt team made the overseas shoot feel comfortable.
