The Mindy Project Star To Lead New CBS Vampire TV Show

CBS is sinking its teeth into a new vampire comedy, and it has just cast Ed Weeks, best known for his role as Dr. Jeremy Reed on The Mindy Project, as the male lead in the network’s pilot Eternally Yours. This comes following the success of Ghosts.

Ed Weeks to headline Ghosts showrunners’ new vampire comedy pilot

Eternally Yours is a single-camera comedy from showrunners and executive producers Joe Port and Joe Wiseman. The series will depict an eternal love story with a very modern problem: a vampire couple, married for five centuries, must grapple with their daughter dating a human.

Ed Weeks will play Charles, one half of the ancient vampire duo. As described in the official character breakdown, “Nobility in the Middle Ages, Charles is now a pencil pusher who, along with his family, has to move every few years to avoid attracting attention to the fact that they never age. He disdains modernity and the weak-minded humans who inhabit it, which makes it all the worse when he learns his vampire daughter is now dating one” (via The Hollywood Reporter).

This casting reunites Weeks with the broadcast comedy scene where he got widespread recognition. Following his six-season run on The Mindy Project, he has appeared in series like LA to Vegas and Not Dead Yet, and recent films including the thriller Drop.

Joe Port and Joe Wiseman, who write and executive produce the pilot, are collaborating again with CBS Studios under their overall deal. Eric Tannenbaum, Kim Tannenbaum, and Jason Wang also executive produce.

The duo developed the hit CBS comedy Ghosts, which has been renewed for a fifth and sixth season. Now, Eternally Yours is their next supernatural project, this time shifting focus from spirits to long-married vampires dealing with contemporary family issues. If picked up to series, Eternally Yours may join CBS’s 2026-2027 lineup alongside Ghosts.
