Respawn Entertainment revealed its new Star Wars game earlier today at this year’s Star Wars Celebration in Chicago. A Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order trailer sets up the single-player action-adventure game, due out this fall.

Jedi: Fallen Order follows a Jedi Padawan named Cal (Cameron Monaghan) who survived Order 66, the events that wiped out much of the Jedi Order. The game is set between Revenge of the Sith and A New Hope, with Cal hiding in plain sight at the beginning of the game. The Inquisitors learn of his Force abilities, and end up hunting him over the course of the game. Jedi: Fallen Order will release on November 15 on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order was given an official title at E3 2018, but the game had been an open secret for some time before that. God of War 3 director Stig Asmussen is directing Jedi: Fallen Order. Chris Avellone, a designer and writer on seminal titles like Fallout 2Planescape: Torment, and Star Wars Knights of the Old Republic 2 penned the game’s story. Avellone finished his work on Jedi: Fallen Order a few months ago.

Respawn CEO and co-founder Vince Zampella confirmed ahead of the game’s announcement that Jedi: Fallen Order will be a single-player experience with no microtransactions.

Jedi: Fallen Order comes after a tumultuous few years for Star Wars video games. 2017 saw the release of Star Wars: Battlefront 2, which was packed with loot boxes and frustrating pay-to-win mechanics. The game was slammed by players and critics for its predatory mechanics, causing EA to rethink microtransactions in the game. EA also shuttered Visceral Games in 2017, leading to the demise of Amy Hennig’s Star Wars project, codenamed Ragtag. EA Vancouver’s open-world Star Wars game, which used some assets from Ragtag, was canceled earlier this year.

Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order looks to be a step in the right direction for the exclusive partnership between EA and Disney. Check out the new Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order trailer below.
