Music Festival Casualties Continue With Firefly Fest Victim

Tragedy has struck yet another music festival as a 20-year-old woman was pronounced dead shortly after being found unconscious at a campsite at a Firefly campsite in Dover, Delaware early Sunday morning.

Philadelphia resident Caroline Friedman was treated on site by medical staff and rushed to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital where she passed.

It was the first death in the music festival’s seven-year-history, but adds to the growing list of deaths at music festivals around the world where illicit drugs, heat exhaustion, and faulty planning can be a perfect storm for the uninhibited.

In 2016 and 2017, police arrested nine people at Firefly for selling drugs ranging from MDMA to LSD to cocaine.
