I didn’t know they were making another Star Trek movie, but it’s called Star Trek Beyond. That’s a title that sounds like it was picked by a 40 person committee from feedback from a focus group. Apparently the same committee picked Justin Lin to direct. The dude who directed three Fast & Furious movies. So there’s that. The focus group probably said Guardians of The Galaxy was a great movie, so Paramount decided to make people think this was gonna be a good movie by putting a song in a space movie that doesn’t really fit into a space movie unless you have a brilliant plot device which I assume this movie doesn’t. That guy from the Beastie Boys didn’t die of cancer for this. It does have Captain Kirk riding a motorcycle on a space planet, so I guess that’s something. Pretty sure if ISIS could find a way to bring Gene Roddenberry back to life he’d listen to what they had to say.
