Earlier this year, the fifth Pirates of the Caribbean film gave Johnny Deppâs Captain Jack Sparrow a fearsome new adversary: Captain Armando Salazar. As played by Javier Bardem, Captain Salazar and his undead crew escape the Devilâs Triangle and attempt to get their vengeance on Jack while unleashing a brutal brand of mayhem in their wake.
Next month, Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales is getting a digital release ahead of the DVD and Blu-ray release later in the fall. Today, CraveOnline is exclusively premiering The Matador & The Bull: Secrets of Salazar & The Silent Mary, one of the special features created for the film. In this clip, makeup and hair designer Peter Swords King describes how the effects team came up with the design for the cracked skin of Salazar and his crew, before we witness Bardem in a timelapse of his makeup transformation into the franchiseâs latest villain.

Some of the other announced special features include an extended conversation with the filmâs co-directors, Joachim Rønning and Espen Sandberg; as well as interviews with Brenton Thwaites and Kaya Scodelario, as well as Sir Paul McCartney, who appeared in the movie as âUncle Jack.â Additionally, there will be deleted scenes, a blooper reel, and producer Jerry Bruckheimerâs photo diary.
