Briggs Has Announced He’s A Writer For Matt Groening’s New Netflix Series

Adam Briggs, also known as Briggs, has already established himself as an important voice in this country but it seems he’s going global, joining Matt Groening’s new Netflix animated series as a writer.

The Simpsons’ Groening and Josh Weinstein have gathered an all-star cast including Abbi Jacobson (‘Broad City’) and Eric Andre (‘The Eric Andre Show’) for the show titled ‘Disenchantment’ which is currently in the works.

It will arrive in 2018 with 10 episodes to be launched at a time. The show will centre around a crumbling wasteland called Dreamland and follow big-drinking princess Bean and her elf companion Elfo among others.

“‘Disenchantment’ will be about life and death, love and sex, and how to keep laughing in a world full of suffering and idiots, despite what the elders and wizards and other jerks tell you,” Groening said about the series in a statement.

Briggs, who is also one half of A.B. Original, took to social media to announce the big news and also shared a picture of a script that suggests he’s already put pen to paper writing for the series. He also shared a picture of himself with Groening and Weinstein.

He’s already developed quite a resumé for himself on TV in Australia. He appears on ‘The Weekly’ and he’s also done writing for ‘Black Comedy’ on ABC. He’s a huge talent and it’s going to be extremely interesting to see what he does with ‘Disenchantment’.
