FIFA 18 Release Date, Trailer and Ronaldo Edition Revealed

Update: The Switch version of FIFA 18 won’t run on the Frostbite engine and won’t feature The Journey: Hunter Returns mode.

Original Story: The FIFA 18 release date has been revealed, along with the introduction of a special Ronaldo Edition of the game.

The debut trailer, recorded in the game’s engine and showing off some dramatically improved visuals (check out Cristiano Ronaldo’s sweaty face — that’s real-time sweat for you there, folks!) fails to announce when the game will be released, it has been confirmed via the game’s Xbox One and EA Origin pre-order page that it will launch on PS4 and Xbox One on September 29, 2017, and on the PC on September 28. EA also confirmed that FIFA 18 will release on the Switch, though pre-orders for this version of the game are not currently being taken on the EA site. EA has not explained why.

Also:

Cristiano Ronaldo has been announced as the game’s cover star, with him beating out Barcelona rival — who is routinely picked as the star to adorn the front of FIFA‘s box — to become the star attraction of the game:

EA have also unveiled a special Ronaldo Edition of the game for £79.99, which included a Cristiano Ronaldo loan card for Ultimate Team, 20 Jumbo Premium Gold packs, 8 Special Edition FUT kits and a copy of the game. Then there’s also the pricier Icon Edition, which retails for £89.99 and contains a Ronaldo Nazario Icon loan card, 40 Jumbo Premium Gold packs, the Cristiano Ronaldo loan card, 8 Special Edition FUT kits and 20 Team of the Week loan player packs.

You can pre-order the game right here, and check out the debut FIFA 18 trailer below:
