‘Game of Thrones’ Season 7 Trailer Unleashes War

“I was born to rule the seven kingdoms…and I will.”

For six seasons, the war for the seven kingdoms of Westeros has decimated the once powerful houses that ruled. Now, Cersei Lannister sits upon the Iron Throne that once belonged to her husband and her children. Unfortunately for Cersei, Daenerys Targaryen has come home with multiple armies at her command and dragons as big as airplanes. It seems likely that only one queen will survive in the end, but the real war…the great war has always been in the North, where the White Walkers’ march threatens all who live.

HBO has unleashed the first trailer for Game of Thrones‘ penultimate season, which sets up the war of the two queens, and several familiar faces as the characters’ fates intersect and converge. The end is almost here, but the battle has just begun.

Note that the King in the North, Jon Snow, finally gets his hands around Littlefinger’s throat. But you can never tell with Littlefinger, as he’s still whispering words of poison in Sansa’s ears and smiling while the country burns. Meanwhile, Daenerys appears to have set up shop in Dragonstone, the ancestral home of her family. And it looks like she’s got a starter throne before moving on to the Iron Throne. Don’t bet against her!

Game of Thrones season 7 will premiere on Sunday, July 16.
