Gorillaz Debut New Song ‘The Apprentice’ Featuring Rag’n’Bone Man

Gorillaz have released another brand new track from their upcoming album Humanz, with ‘The Apprentice’ featuring singers Rag’n’Bone Man and RAY BLK and a verse from Zebra Katz.

The song will appear as a bonus track on the deluxe edition of the animated band’s fifth LP, and it’s the sixth piece of new material the band have released since announcing the new album. Alongside the three guest appearances on this new track, Humanz will also feature the talents of Danny Brown, De La Soul, Grace Jones and more. The deluxe edition of the album will feature four exclusive tracks including ‘The Apprentice’, ‘Halfway To The Halfway House’, ‘Ticker Tape’ and ‘Circle of Friendz’.

The highly anticipated LP saw the band’s cartoon members appear in their first live interview last week, with Damon Albarn and artist/Gorillaz co-founder Jamie Hewlett (as 2D and Murdoch) taking questions on MistaJam’s BBC Radio 1 show. The interview was conducted using 3D motion capture technology.

Gorillaz have also announced a tour later in the year, performing at their own Demon Dayz festival in Margate on June 10 before jetting off to Canada and the US, with festival appearances including the Fuji Rock Festival and Outside Lands in San Francisco.
