‘Rogue One’ is Coming to Blu-ray on April 4, 2017

Be honest: can you really get enough Star Wars?

If the answer is no, then you must be incredibly excited because Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is coming to Blu-ray and On Demand on April 4, 2017. Gareth Edwards’ blockbuster sequel, about the mission to steal the Death Star plans that immediately preceded the events of Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope, will premiere on Digital HD and Disney Movies Anywhere on March 24, 2017. StarWars.com broke the news, which makes quite a lot of sense.

Disney has decided to commemorate the home video release with a new Rogue One trailer, featuring some new behind the scenes footage. Check it out below…

…aaaand we’re back. The home video release of Rogue One will include special features about many of the film’s characters, as well as the many connections the film has to other Star Wars movies and shows.

It’s worth noting, however, that many of the special features that Star Wars fans truly crave – deleted scenes, outtakes, director’s commentary tracks – are conspicuously absent from this edition. Normally we’d say this means that there’s another, even more “special” edition of Rogue One coming down the pipe, but, well, OF COURSE there’s another one coming. It’s Star Wars. We’ll be getting new editions of Rogue One and every other installment (except, apparently, the Star Wars Holiday Special or the Ewoks movies) for the rest of our lives.

If you can’t wait for the next one, or the next one, then be sure to mark your calendars. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is coming home. (You can read the full press release below.)
