Deilor Leaves League of Legends eSports Team Fnatic

Luis “Deilor” Sevilla has stepped down from his role as Fnatic’s League of Legends Head Coach, with the team announcing that they came to a mutual decision regarding his resignation.

Deilor led Fnatic to great success during his tenure with the eSports team, with him helping them become EU LCS champions twice in 2015 along with semifinalists in the World Champion series, though a string of recent poor results has seen both parties agree to move on.

A statement from Fnatic reads:

“Unfortunately, with highs often come lows and rebuilding our lineup for the second time this year proved to be more challenging than expected. Because of recent results and in order to give the team the best chance moving forward, Luis and the Fnatic management team mutually agreed that him stepping down is the correct course of action. While the timing of this decision might seem odd at first, we agreed that it was important to give the team a fresh start under a new coach as soon as possible.”

It seems that this decision has been made very recently, with Deilor having posted on Twitter that Fnatic would “bloom in Playoffs” on July 31. Speaking of his decision to step down, he wrote: “I’m sad to announce that I decided to step down but really think is the best decision for both sides.

“The journey with Fnatic has been amazing. I have nothing but good memories and respect for organization and players.

“Thanks to everyone that supported us through the good and bad times, really appreciate it. Best luck to the team during playoffs and Worlds!”

Fnatic have yet to announce who Deilor’s replacement will be.
