‘Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them’ Is Getting A Sequel

Warner Bros has just announced that the upcoming Harry Potter spin-off film Fantastic Beasts And Where to Find Them is getting a sequel, three months before the first film has even been released.

Mind you, considering the fact the franchise is one of the most successful in film and publishing history, it’s not really much of a gamble on their part. We here at Crave HQ are just excited to get more Potter-verse goodness, especially with series author J.K. Rowling confirmed as screenwriter for both outings.

Starring Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, an English wizard that unwittingly releases a horde of magical beasts on an unsuspecting 1920s New York, the film is scheduled for release in Australia on Thursday 17th November.

Warner Bros have said the follow-up “moves deeper into an increasingly dark time for the wizarding world”, with the director of Fantastic Beasts and the last four Harry Potter films David Yates also returning alongside Rowling for the second in a proposed trilogy of films. And so while a sequel was expected, this is the first time Warner Bros has confirmed their plans.

Anyway, it’s still a while off, so rather than just sit and stew in our excited juices, why don’t we revisit the latest trailer for Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them and some interview with Rowling and Redmayne here below.
