‘Rogue One: A Star Wars Story’ WAS Filmed in Canary Wharf, Confirms Gareth Edwards

Rogue One: A Star Wars Story director Gareth Edwards has confirmed that the film features scenes that were shot in the Canary Wharf tube station.

Rumors circulated that the movie features an action scene shot in the underground station, after the first Rogue One trailer depicted an underground base that was incredibly reminiscent of the location.

After the trailer debuted, fans noticed the similarities and even created side-by-side shots of both the station and the clips from the film. Gareth Edwards has now confirmed that this is the case, telling attendees of the Rogue One: A Star Wars Story panel at Star Wars Celebration 2016 that they had indeed secretly filmed the clips at the station.
