Montreal Jazz Festival Wraps Up On July 9th

The 37th edition of the Festival International de Jazz de Montréal (Montreal Jazz Festival) takes over the Quartier des spectacles until July 9th.

Music greats taking to the stage include Lauryn Hill (tonight and tomorrow), Marcus Miller (tomorrow night), Emilie-Claire Barlow Symphonique (tomorrow night), Volcan Trio as well as Brian Wilson and the Oliver Jones Trio (all of whom are playing on July 7th). There will also be numerous appearances by The Wainwright Sisters, Radio Radio, and West Trainz, who will be performing a multimedia show.

There are tons of free shows going on as part of the Montreal Jazz Festival’s free outdoor program. In fact, 2/3 of the overall program are free of charge. In all, the Festival will present over 600 free concerts and activities, from jazz to hip-hop, reggae to swing to blues. Performers hail from across the globe, including New Zealand, Ethiopia, Scandinavia, and Mexico.
