New York’s ‘Añejo’ Invents Cocktail to Support Orlando Victims

We take a moment from covering fun, interesting, though non-life and death subjects here to share a brief story that should do some good for the victims, grieving families and friends of those lost in the wake of the Orlando terrorist attack. In New York, Añejo (the Mexican restaurant and tequila bar in Tribeca) is offering a new cocktail to raise funds for the victims of recent events in Orlando.

The Añejo Pulse is named for the club that attacked last week. For each cocktail sold in the month of June, $3 will be donated to the GoFundMe campaign helping the victims’ families. As of this posting, that total funding effort raised more than $5 million.

According to the team at Añejo, their presence in Tribeca forged a strong relationship with New York’s LGBT community. This is one way an organization outside the Orlando area can still provide support to the reeling city.

If you’re outside New York, you can both simulate a visit to Añejo and help out Orlando in the comfort of your old home. Mix yourself an Añejo Pulse with the recipe below and send your cash donation to the GoFundMe page directly.
