Tana Mongeau Dresses as Erika Kirk, Then Questions Whether She’s Sorry

Influencer Tana Mongeau has sparked online reactions with her latest Halloween costume. The podcaster recreated a look worn by Erika Kirk, the widow of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.

Mongeau appeared in an all-black outfit and mimicked Kirk’s intense stare and mannerisms from an April YouTube video. Her caption also appeared to anticipate a reaction to the costume, writing that she felt she should apologize but was “not sure if I’m sorry.”

The influencer shares an Instagram video recreating Kirk’s appearance

On Saturday, Oct. 24, Mongeau posted the video on Instagram. She wore a black silk button-up shirt and a black baseball cap with the word “Freedom” on it. She also pulled her blonde hair into a ponytail, recreating Kirk’s appearance in an April YouTube video titled “A Message From Erika Kirk.” Mongeau mimicked the original video’s direct eye contact and heavy breathing.

In the April video, Kirk addressed online speculation surrounding her husband’s death and criticism of how she grieved publicly. Mongeau captioned her Halloween video, “I feel like I should immediately apologize for this but I’m not sure if I’m sorry so.”

The costume drew mixed reactions online. Some users on Reddit’s FauxMoi forum focused on whether Mongeau captured Kirk’s intense expression. One commenter wrote, “She’s not staring into my soul hard enough,” while another suggested, “She should of put in blue contacts.”

A different user compared Mongeau’s costume with comedian Druski’s earlier parody, writing, “Sorry but druski is better.” Druski, whose real name is Drew Desbordes, previously shared a sketch that appeared to parody Kirk, featuring a blonde wig and blue contact lenses.

Mongeau’s Halloween costume has continued to attract attention, with online users debating how closely she captured Kirk’s appearance. Her caption has also fueled speculation about whether she anticipated backlash over the parody.
