Matthew Perry’s Brother-in-Law Shares Moving Tribute After Another Loss

David Bowick is remembering two loved ones who are no longer here. The loss of his sister has brought back painful memories of his brother-in-law, Matthew Perry. Bowick recently shared a family photo and a heartfelt message about them both. His words also come just before a new Netflix documentary about the late actor.

Bowick shared the tribute in a Facebook post on Saturday. He mentioned the upcoming three-part Netflix series, The One About Matthew Perry, which premieres Oct. 27. “There’s a documentary about my brother-in-law Matthew Perry coming out on Netflix Tuesday,” he wrote. He added that he appears briefly, while his wife, Mia Perry Bowick, has a larger role.

The post featured a wedding picture of Bowick with Perry and his sister Zoe Bowick Levine. “This is Matthew and my sister Zoe at our wedding,” he wrote. He then shared the painful reality behind the picture, adding, “Now they’re both gone.” Zoe died on Sept. 10 at age 46, nearly three years after Perry died in 2023 at age 54.

Bowick said he rarely spoke publicly about Perry. However, his sister’s death led him to share what both family members meant to him. “He was someone the whole world felt like they knew, but to me, he was just my brother,” Bowick wrote. He also recalled how Perry greeted him, saying, “He always started our interactions with ‘Hey, brother’ and I always loved that.”

Bowick described the pain of losing people who shared memories of Perry. “It’s a strange thing to watch the world remember someone while you’re still trying to figure out how to live without the people you remember them with,” he wrote. He also revealed that he contributed music to the documentary as a music producer and sound designer. Bowick said viewers can hear his work in the credits for Episodes 1 and 2, adding, “I miss you both so much.”
