Craig Conover is stepping into scripted drama with Charmed by a Southern Monster, a new Bravo vertical series featuring romance, mystery and family secrets. The Southern Charm star plays Hunter Caldwell opposite Nicole Mattox, who portrays Maeve Marchant. The series premieres November 9 on the Peacock mobile app.
Craig Conover stars as Hunter Caldwell in Bravo’s scripted series Charmed by a Southern Monster
Conover, who has described himself as a “storyteller” on Southern Charm, takes on a fictional role in Bravo’s latest microdrama. According to Deadline, the plot follows Maeve, a corporate fixer tasked with persuading Hunter to sell his family’s estate. Hunter is rumored to be a murderer.
Maeve’s assignment becomes more complicated when she discovers that Hunter may be misunderstood rather than dangerous. He also appears to be the only person who can protect her from her threatening ex-boyfriend.
As their connection develops, family secrets and a billion-dollar property development deal put their relationship at risk. Maeve is then forced to confront her past and reconsider what she is willing to sacrifice for love.
The project marks Bravo’s third vertical microdrama on Peacock but its first scripted offering. The platform previously launched Campus Confidential: Miami, an unscripted series following Georgia Gay. She is the daughter of The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City star Heather Gay and was followed after leaving her sorority.
Bravo later released Salon Confessionals, starring Southern Charm cast member Madison LeCroy.
The new series arrives just days before Conover returns for Southern Charm Season 12. Viewers have followed his personal life and career on the reality show for years.
His role in Charmed by a Southern Monster gives him the chance to explore a fictional character in a story centered on romance, mystery and high-stakes family drama. Southern Charm Season 12 premieres November 12 at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo.
Charmed by a Southern Monster is produced by Micromaker and Haymaker East. Aaron Rothman, Josh Halpert and Jesse Light serve as executive producers, while Caroline Bomback is co-executive producer. Lyla Trilling wrote the series, and Yoraiia directed it.
