Nick Cannon’s BET series draws online mockery
The 10-episode series Nick Cannon @ Night premiered on October 20. The series will bring together celebrities, doctors, and relationship experts to discuss dating challenges, intimacy, mental health, and other personal topics. The guest list includes Chris “CP” Powell, Natalie Nunn, Skeet Carter, Dondré Whitfield, Tommy Davidson, Flame Monroe, and Courtney Bee. Experts Dr. Umar Johnson, Dr. Alicia Watkins, Elliot Connie, and Dr. Zoe Indigo are also scheduled to appear.
Cannon explained in a statement, as per Variety, “I’m blending real advice with late-night entertainment. Grown folk conversation where we discuss and receive advice from the experts.” The father of 12 children with six different women added, “Bringing humor and curiosity as we open up the phone lines and DMs exploring questions that people think about privately but rarely discuss out loud!”
Jay Jurden was among those who took to social media to react to the announcement. The Comedian wrote on X, “RELATIONSHIP ADVICE FROM WHO?!?!” Netizens echoed the criticism, with one person commenting, “A man who doesn’t even remember all of his children wants to give advice to others.” Another wrote, “They’re not promising good relationship advice. Just relationship advice. Cautionary tales perhaps.” One more said, “Nick has nerve and audacity.”
Cannon’s personal life has drawn public attention for years. Cannon shares twins, Moroccan and Monroe, with his ex-wife, Mariah Carey. They tied the knot in 2008 before finalizing their divorce in 2016. He also shares children with Brittany Bell, Abby De La Rosa, Bre Tiesi, LaNisha Cole, and Alyssa Scott.
