Tyler Cameron and Tate Madden turned an emotional dance into a major family announcement. The couple shared their pregnancy news during Dancing With the Stars Dedication Night on Oct. 20. Their performance honored Cameron’s late mother, Andrea Cameron, while revealing their plans to become parents. The night also brought another happy surprise for the couple.

Cameron performed a contemporary routine with professional partner Sharna Burgess, set to Ed Sheeran’s “Supermarket Flowers.” Cameron’s voiceover played throughout the dance as he spoke to his late mother. “She’s going to be the most incredible mama, just like you — and we’re going to have a baby,” he said. He also shared his hope that he would make his mother proud.
After the performance, co-host Alfonso Ribeiro helped the couple reveal their baby’s sex. Pink confetti filled the ballroom, announcing that Cameron and Madden are expecting a daughter. “I get to be a girl dad, what a gift,” Cameron said. Judge Bruno Tonioli praised the couple for “dancing with three hearts beating as one,” while Cameron and Burgess earned 32 out of 40 points.
In an exclusive interview with E! News after the Oct. 20 episode, Madden spoke about joining Cameron for a lift during the routine. She joked that he used all his strength because he knew she might cry if he could no longer lift her. Cameron quickly reassured his fiancée, saying, “No, you were up there like a feather, baby.” Madden said she felt relieved once she realized she had stayed steady and completed the lift without falling.
Madden also shared her thoughts on why the performance was so important to her, following 12 years of a hiatus from dancing. “To be able to come back to it in this way, with this dance, means everything to me,” she said. She added that honoring Cameron’s mother felt special because she would marry and have children with the man Andrea helped raise. Cameron confirmed his engagement to Madden in August, and the couple now look forward to welcoming their first child together.
